New Pride Tire
New Pride Tire has been retreading tires since 1964. Originally known as Pacific Coast Retreaders we initially were serving independent tire dealers, local municipalities, and US military throughout northern California.
In the early 1980’s the company began changing its focus to the intermodal transportation industry. At this time, bias ply tires were mainly being used and our company was built on supplying cap and casing retreads with pre-cure and mold-cure treads to the intermodal marketplace. We imported hundreds of thousands of high quality 14-ply Japanese casings and our ability to process casings in pre-cure and mold-cure systems enabled us to help maximize customer casing retention and lower overall customer costs.
A new specialized bias ply tire was introduced in 1998 under its own private New Pride® brand. The success of our Bias Tire led directly to our team developing a new steel radial tire in 2003. The New Pride radial tire has been extremely well received, it was developed with the intermodal industry in mind and been used heavily in the conversion of the intermodal industry from Bias to Radial.
As the intermodal industry began to move to radial tires New Pride Tire led the charge servicing IEPs, railroads, and terminal operations. We have assisted with the conversion of thousands of chassis from bias to radial. We have worked with our manufacturers to develop demountable rims to assist the transition with safety and velocity in mind.
New Pride Tire is based in Alameda, CA and along with our sister company Total Tires, we distribute new radial and bias tires and radial retread tires throughout North America, the Caribbean, Central and South America. Our Southern California retreading facility now stands as one of the largest operations in the nation, and the ability to produce over 600 tires per day. Our plant is a state-of-the-art facility with comprehensive inspection services including high pressure testing using a Matteuzzi G100.
